Location and parks specs

Clark Creek Natural Area is about a 2.5 hour drive away from New Orleans, and a little over an hour away from Baton Rouge.

|

It is a state park where you can venture the 700 acres of land. You can walk along the streams or on the hiking paths to find nearly 50 waterfalls. Some are big leading to swim-able watering holes while others are small. They range from 10 to over 30 feet according to the state’s site. The water that streams through is deliciously cold and a nice break from the heat.

Trail options and sites to see!

You can follow the waterfall trail or choose to venture the primitive trail.

The waterfall trail is 1.78 miles long and is not on a straight path. I was able to hike to see about 4 of the waterfalls within a few hours.

The primitive trail is a lengthy 2.6 miles long and includes a scenic overlook. It is advised that you have familiarity on following trail maps when deciding to take on the Primitive trail.

And for any hiking trips please make sure to go with a buddy and never leave them behind!

You can download a map ahead of time so you have guidance while you are there. You can find it HERE.
