Quarantine sucks but there are ways around it

How so? By knowing that we will find a new normal and there are still ways to find enjoyment during this time. Here are things to do when you are quarantined away from your partner.

For the first two months of quarantine my love and I did not see each other in person. It was hard, but it had its benefits. It was hard because it is not normal for us (anymore…that’s another story) but also a benefit because I had a lot more time to be productive and do things that I wanted to get to for a while.

During this time we had to get creative when it came to spending time together.

Here is a list of activities that you can implement in your relationship to keep things going strong in quarantine during this pandemic!

  1. Talk everyday

It’s good to catch up and see what is going on in each others day-to-day lives. While it may not be much it is still a great way to stay connected. Even talking about each other’s dreams to what little things you may have done around the house. You might find out something new about each other.

  2. Watch TV together

Streaming services like Netflix and HULU have extensions that you can download that will allow everyone with a subscription to enter a link and watch movies and more at the exact same time. For some, there is also a chat option to talk with friends or your lover at the same time.

If you are doing this with your significant other I would suggest staying on the phone while watching. This way you can discuss or just to be there for the laughter or screams of terror! It is all about staying connected to each other. Check out this site for more options for watching TV with others simultaneously.

3. Write stories or poems for each other

This can be as fun as you would like it to be. Just be creative. I’ll leave it there.

4. Play games online

Find a game online that the both of you would enjoy and get started. This can be a live game where both players are on at the same time or it can be something like words with friends on Facebook where you both play throughout the day. Either way, it is another great way for the both of you to enjoy each other in a fun and competitive manner.

5. Surprise each other

Most people like being surprised so why not do it during quarantine. Online shopping is always an option. Find something your significant other may like and buy it for them! Don’t tell them it is even coming. They will be so happy to know that you were thinking of them and wanted to treat them without them asking.

5. Have a quarantine date

Plan it. Give the both of you something to look forward to! Don’t forget to dress to impress, this is a date after all. Think more of a let’s cook at home, eat dinner, and then watch a movie type of date. The both of you can cook your own meal, get on face time for dinner, eat, talk and enjoy each others company. Afterwards you can watch a movie and chill. Who knows where the night will take you!

6. Sexy time!

Obviously you can have fun there as well. Spicy text messages and face time will always work. Use your creativity and have fun with it!

7. If you can’t stay away from each other …. have a socially distanced in-person date

During our quarantine my partner and I also had our 4 year anniversary. This is something we were sad happened during the pandemic but what can ya do? We decided to cook our own food, meet up at the lake and we had a date. I sat in my car with the door open and he did the same from his car. We chatted and took socially distanced photos to mark our milestone. We didn’t hug or touch. It sucked but at least we got to see each other.

That’s it folks!

There are many ways to engage with each other without getting bored. It is all about creativity and bonding with each other. If it doesn’t work out for you … maybe it wasn’t meant to. For some couples, quarantine may be the push you needed to let go. And for others it will be the moment to show that you are meant to be. If you can make it through this you can probably last through anything.
