A focus on natural hair acceptance and if African American women care

Why this story is here

This is a story that I had to the opportunity to tell for WWLTV.com digital platforms. If you don’t know this about me, I am an aspiring Journalist. I do a lot of multimedia work on my own for my own platforms like TheCurlyTraveler.com and The Exclusive TV. However, I am working towards becoming a television reporter one day. This story is special to me because I am also a part of the natural hair movement. My hair is a huge part of me, my look and I love it.

In this story

African American women shared their stories and thoughts on being a part of the natural hair movement with me. To some, our hair isn't acceptable. This is an issue that has gone on for as long as we can remember. In the past year, laws have been created and passed in a few states under the Crown Act to protect us from discrimination when it comes to our hair. There has been progress, but there is even more work that needs to be done.
